International Cooperation
The Academy of Hospitality, Tourism, and Wellness recognizes international cooperation as a key component of modern higher education. In today’s academic environment, collaboration with partner institutions worldwide enables not only the exchange of knowledge and experience but also the continuous enhancement of the quality of study programmes, research capacities, and the professional development of both academic and administrative staff.
Student and staff mobility contributes significantly to personal and professional growth, fosters intercultural dialogue, and encourages the development of a global perspective among all participants. Periods spent abroad allow students to acquire new knowledge and skills, become familiar with different educational systems, and develop adaptability and independence, while academic staff gain valuable opportunities for networking, joint project work, and the adoption of innovative teaching approaches.
At the institutional level, international cooperation opens pathways to participation in international academic networks, joint programmes, research initiatives, and quality development in line with European standards. This strengthens the competitiveness of our institution at both regional and European levels and enhances its overall visibility and recognition. We invite all students, academic staff, and associates to explore the opportunities offered through our international cooperation, mobility, and partnership programmes. The International Relations Office is available to provide additional information, support, and guidance throughout the application process and participation in various forms of international activities.

Procedure and Requirements for Obtaining a Serbian Visa and Residence Permit
Foreign nationals need to obtain a visa to enter Serbia, unless they come from countries that benefit from a visa-free regime. The types of visas vary depending on the purpose of stay, such as tourist, business, student, or work visas.
Obtaining a visa requires submitting an application at a Serbian diplomatic or consular mission in the applicant’s country of residence. Required documentation typically includes a valid passport, proof of the purpose of travel, evidence of accommodation, health insurance, and proof of financial means to cover the stay.
Upon arrival in Serbia with the appropriate visa, or for nationals from visa-free countries, a residence permit is required for longer stays (over 90 days). The residence permit procedure is managed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia or its regional offices. Applicants usually need to submit a request with proof of the purpose of stay, accommodation, health insurance, and financial stability.
For more information on visas and residence permits, as well as current forms and instructions, please consult the official sources:
- Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia – Information for Foreigners
- Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia – Information for Foreigners
It is recommended to prepare and submit applications well in advance, as processing times may range from a few days to several weeks, depending on the type and purpose of the stay.
Accommodation and Transport Tips
When planning your stay in Belgrade, one of the first steps for international students is to find suitable accommodation. Here are key recommendations to help make this process safe, efficient, and tailored to your needs:
- Use reliable sources.
- Avoid unlicensed intermediaries. Be cautious with listings on social media or unverified websites. Always seek official information about the landlord and the rental agreement.
- Do not pay in advance. Never send money or copies of personal documents before you have viewed the apartment in person and signed a contract.
- Check location and transport accessibility. Belgrade’s public transport system is well-developed and recently became free for all users.
- Request a rental contract. Upon moving in, make sure to sign a contract that includes all essential details such as duration, rent amount, utility costs, and rules for using the property.
- Check the safety of the neighbourhood. Gather information about the area and living conditions in the chosen district. The Academy can provide basic guidance on student-friendly locations.
Your safety and well-being are our priority. Welcome to Belgrade, and we wish you a pleasant stay and successful studies!
The Beauty of Belgrade and the Magic of Studying There
Belgrade, a city at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, carries the spirit of both history and youth. Its streets tell stories spanning centuries, while Knez Mihailova Street, Kalemegdan Fortress, and the bohemian Skadarlija district offer a unique blend of tradition and contemporary city life. The charm of Belgrade lies in its vibrancy – in the smiles of its people, sunsets over the rivers, and endless evenings filled with music, art, and culture.
Studying in Belgrade offers more than academic knowledge – it is an experience that shapes people. Universities, libraries, cultural institutions, and the dynamic student life make this city a place where learning, personal growth, and creativity come together. Young people from across the country and around the world come here not only for education but also for the energy that Belgrade generously shares. It is a city where inspiration comes naturally – for learning, creating, and forming friendships that last a lifetime.
At the heart of this vibrant city stands our Academy of Hospitality, Tourism, and Wellness, where knowledge meets the spirit of the city. Our students learn to appreciate the beauty of Belgrade not just as visitors, but as future professionals shaping its tourism identity.
