Today, on September 27th, 2024, we celebrate World Tourism Day under the theme "Tourism and Peace," emphasizing the role of tourism in building trust and unity among nations. This year, the focus is on tourism as a means of promoting peace and sustainable development, supporting local communities, and fostering global understanding.

We particularly want to highlight the significance of the Academy for Hospitality, Tourism, and Wellness, which, with its modern approach to education, stands at the forefront of developing professionals in the hospitality, tourism, and wellness industries. The Academy is dedicated and actively engaged in educating future leaders in tourism, equipping students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this dynamic and globally significant sector. Through innovative curricula and hands-on student experience, the Academy contributes to shaping professionals who will create a sustainable and peaceful future for tourism, with a special focus on advancing tourism in Serbia.

The Academy congratulates everyone who, through their efforts, knowledge, and commitment, contributes to positive changes, growth, and development in tourism on this World Tourism Day. We extend our congratulations on World Tourism Day to all first-generation undergraduate and master’s students of the Academy for Hospitality, Tourism, and Wellness, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Academy, as well as all tourism professionals in Serbia and around the world.

World Tourism Day has been celebrated every year on September 27th since 1980. This date marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Statutes of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 1970.
