On December 9, 2024, an event titled "Sharing of Knowledge on Malaysian Traditional and Cultural Dance" was held at the Academy of Hospitality, Tourism, and Wellness, organized by the Embassy of Malaysia in Serbia.

The event was opened by Mrs. Carmallia Budiaty Che Embi, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Malaysia, who emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and the potential of Malaysia as an attractive and diverse tourist destination. She also expressed hope for the abolition of the visa regime between Serbia and Malaysia, which would further enhance mutual relations.

The program featured a presentation of promotional video material on Malaysian tourism. Participants were greeted by Prof. Dr. Danijel Pavlović, director of the Academy, who highlighted the significance of connecting cultures through education and tourism. The event’s highlight was a lecture by Mr. Mohd Yunus Aliallah Ismail, a lecturer from the National Academy of Arts, Culture, and Heritage (ASWARA), on Malaysian traditional culture and dance.

Key moments of the event included:

  • Quizzes on the ASEAN organization and Malaysia, won by Academy student Isidora Nedeljković, showcasing her exceptional knowledge.

  • A gift presentation by Mrs. Carmallia Budiaty Che Embi to Prof. Dr. Pavlović, symbolizing appreciation for their collaboration. The gift was a painting of Malaysia's traditional flower.

The event brought together:

  • Students and professors of the Academy,

  • Representatives of the academic community,

  • The Tourist Organization of Serbia, and

  • Journalists.

The event concluded with a tasting of traditional Malaysian dishes, offering an authentic gastronomic insight into Malaysia’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

This gathering is another step in strengthening cultural and tourism ties between Serbia and Malaysia, encouraging future collaboration and exploration.

The Academy of Hospitality, Tourism, and Wellness will continue organizing such events, fostering cooperation with international partners to further enhance the quality of education for its students.
